5 OER TOOLS FOR TEACHERS OR STUDENTS
Recently I have been doing research on simple mechanical teaching. As I search for relevant knowledge, I find that humans are truly intelligent. When we find it complicated to do something, we invent some tools to help us simplify complicated things. These tools simplify or reduce the amount of power that humans need to do things so that we can do things more efficiently.
In this week's video, Dr.Morin mentioned that it takes a lot of time to create OER teaching materials, and I am also sure this is not an easy thing to do. At this point, I have been wondering if there are any other tools online that can help teachers make OER teaching materials. To that end, I did an online search and found five tools that I thought were good, and I will share them here. I hope these tools will greatly increase the effectiveness of teachers in producing OER teaching materials.
5 OER TOOLS FOR TEACHERS OR STUDENTS:
Internet Archive Moving Image Archive
Internet Archive Moving Image Archive is a digital film library containing uploads by users, and this library contains many videos. It has classic full-length films, daily alternative news broadcasts, cartoons, and concerts. What is important is that many of these videos can be downloaded for free.
WatchKnowLearn is an educational video link site that contains about 50,000 educational videos. The videos are organized into catalogs in more than 5,000 categories. Whether you are a teacher in the classroom or a parent and student at home, you all can watch the videos for free. In addition to watching videos, users can also use the site's innovation catalog or search for videos by topic and age level. For ease of search, the video's title, description, age information, and rating all have been edited to ensure usefulness. However, WatchKnowLearn does not offer videos per se, but this site does serve as a video library and provides links to excellent educational videos of educators' choice.
EDSITEment is a treasure trove of educational materials for teachers, students, and parents who can search the Internet for high-quality materials. This website covers subject areas as literature and language arts, foreign languages, art and culture, history, and social studies. All websites linking to EDSITEment are reviewed for content, design, and educational impact on the classroom. It also covers a wide range of humanities, from American history to literature, world history and culture, languages, art, and archaeology.
Utah Education Network is a website that has a lot of quality educational resources. There are many different educational materials available on this site and the content of the materials is also available in different languages. In addition to educational materials, the site also provides links to some OER tools and also some web links to resource search websites.
